A spring has definitely arrived, which is delightful. For this post I have decided to create a poster for The Chelsea Flower Show.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, formally known as the Great Spring Show,[ is a garden show held for five days in May by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London. Held at Chelsea since 1912, it is the most famous flower and landscape gardens show in the United Kingdom, and perhaps in the world. [1] The show is attended by members of the British Royal Family and attracts visitors from all continents.

Highlights to the Chelsea Flower Show include the avant-garde show gardens designed by leading names with Floral Marquee at the centerpiece. The Show also features smaller gardens such as the Artisan and Urban Gardens.

At the moment I am in favour of vintage look. I create this poster from flowers illustrations not from the real photos.

I wanted to give more style option. I have created some variations in the style. Here I am using photographs.

After watching a trailer on RHS website featuring interviews with the participants of the show. I decided that a sharp angles are not always the best.

One of the topics of this year how is gargening for well being. This idea told of one of the gardeners to create something which would let the visitors to explore the garden more intuitively rather through designed paths I have created few more versions of my poster.

The colour used for the background of the posters are always colour picked from the photos. I am aiming for colour harmony.

The challenge here is to create something with text and photos without either of them overpowering the other one. I also didn’t want too many photos which would disturb the simplicity of the poster. I also struggled with placements of the logos. I resolved the issue by placing them on bottom right side.

The Chelsea Flower show is very visual and I feel photos are very important part of the poster. I felt I have to include those and they need to be relatively big in size.

Over all I am happy with my designs and might do more later on.
